I am pleased with the gadget. Happier than I used to be with Sync, Alpine, or Garmin. I think about myself an 'Average' navigation consumer (not a newbie, not an expert) and will update the evaluation after using it much more.
Sidenote: I ordered via Amazon, using "Beach Camera" vendor. It was delivered 1 (1) business day after I ordered it! I utilized 'Standard' shipping, and FedEx (Home service) had it delivered quick. Very pleased with Beach Camera's shipping email messages and pace!
I believed I would provide an update after 6 months of using this TomTom gadget:
1) I'm still very pleased! It's the 1st GPS I've utilized that "just works" and I am glad I do not need to mess with it.
two) I've mastered the method of adjusting the display position whilst simultaneously holding the suction base. Back in May after i initial reviewed it, I used to be worried about how 'easily' it popped off. Now, it is still annoying, but I've minimized the quantity of times it happens by holding it appropriately. It does not annoy me enough to purchase a various stand/holder.
3) The suction cup still holds on fairly nicely. It has not fallen off but. (I attach/detach in the windshield each time I exploit it.)
4) Visitors Receiver: I have been satisfied with alternate directions/road closings. It is fairly accurate, even in rural locations exactly where I did not expect street closures to become displayed.
5) Long-distance travel: I've utilized it for a few long trips (1000+ miles) and had no problems whatsoever with it. I found the 'estimate' of time to become extremely accurate. It was no much more than ten minutes off. (I calculated the time I stopped for gasoline and additional it to the authentic estimate.)
6) Battery life: I've found the battery life to become holding a little less cost than it utilized to, but absolutely nothing that I feel is alarming. Most of the time, I've the power cord connected anyway (so I can grab the visitors updates with the antenna constructed in to the cord.)
Overall, this really is my preferred GPS. I have been hooking it as much as the computer less and less (meaning I'm forfeiting new 'map share' corrections). I even decided NOT to get the newest map update. Why? Well, I feel everything is working just good the way in which it is. I may update if I've the totally free time. This really is in sharp contrast to my prior GPS expertise, exactly where I would pray for updates to repair stubborn problems. The TomTom is simply good and I've had no major complaints. I'm NOT within the marketplace to purchase a brand new GPS simply because I am lastly satisfied.
